Week 25 & Poker Data/Coverage

Kevin hosted, I believe about 18 people showed up.  I walked in late after arriving earlier to bring the long table and buying in.  My wife and girls had gone to the Ke$ha concert.  They got free tickets and a backstage pass to meet Ke$ha and Pitbull.  Ke$ha is actually quite stunning and tall, based on the pictures.  Pitbull is a small dude.  My youngest, Starr, won a dance contest put on by the radio station and won a 43" flat screen tv because she got the highest score.  I mention all this to say that I had to pick up my son from work. I however, was not as lucky as my daughter, I finished 6th on the bubble allowing Blanchard to squeak in and place 5th to gain the tie with Partap.  What are you gonna do?  I had Ac4c and very short stack from under the gun.  Maybe I should of waited until Blanchard got blinded out after the round.  But, I wasn't getting any cards.  Hindsight, would of, should of, could of!

Question: Venue for Poetry Slams

I am looking for a venue for poetry slams.  Essentially, I am looking for a place that is free, that can hold about 80 people sometimes and would not mind hosting less most of the time that does not require a drink minimum and serves alcohol and food.  I will call the Fox and the Hound, Art can you text me your contact person and number (688-9641).   This is for Albuquerque Poetry Slam competitions and Poetry Slam qualifiers, which pretty much works the same for points as our poker league.  Top four each year qualify for the Albuquerque team that travels and competes at National Events.  My daughter is on the team this year and is traveling to Denver and Boston.  If anyone wishes to support the team and make a donation let me know.

Thanks,

Eliseo

Fox and the Hound - Round 2 - 2 WEEKS LEFT IN THIS SEASON!

Not much to say, since I was out just before the final table.  Some people we haven't seen in a while showed up.  Everyone drank and ate, but no free food this time.  My theory is that last time we didn't make enough for them in alcohol sales.  I think Fourteen showed up.  Another cute waitress, Peggy served us well.  There was debate about who the cuter waitress was.  Most liked Peggy more, I personally liked Gabby.  Someone, I won't say who, stated that I like the dark meat better. Some truth to that, but I like a girl who has a nice car, like a Trans-Am. Speaking of Trans-Am's, There was a distraction at the first table, that continued through to the final table.  Much talk revolved around it and many lost focus.  I don't know if this conversation continued, but I am sure that it did knowing those involved.

Fox and the Hound (NHL and NBA) Pizza, wings, chips, and salsa!

Venue (Fox and the Hound [upstairs])

Well everyone who didn't show up missed out!  Twelve showed up at Art's turn for hosting at the Fox and the Hound.  We had all the upstairs to ourselves.  Two pool tables that would seat 10 nicely at each, television screens on all around, pizza, hot wings, chips and salsa!  All served by one cute waitress, Gabby, who was dedicated to serving us.  She did a great job serving and keeping us happy!  We watched the Blackhawks beat the Kings up close and the Spurs beat the Heat.  We may be there again next week, so hopefully you will all show up for a good time!

Week 20 - Not Many Left for the Season!

This night started off with only 12 at the tables, 6-handed to start.  The Guajardo's got off to an early start and went out 1st and 2nd, Eliseo and then Starr.  Eliseo went out just before the first break, just in time for the arrival of  Mr. Evans.  Almost didn't make the chip up! It was a quiet night not a creature was stirring, except Chris who was hitting many hands and accumulating large amounts of chips.  They gravitated his way all night!

The Hand of the Night - Was a big FLOP!

EVERYONE READ LAST PARAGRAPH, NO SMOKING!!!!

Sixteen showed up to play plus two G's that hosted.  Starr held her own and I finished in the money.  But, let's not get ahead of ourselves.  First to try and remember what transpired at the table.  Let's see, Judd was hitting and won with pocket deuces against Starr.  He made quad deuces with the two deuces that came on the board.  He slowed played them a collected a lot of chips.  I know that Chris ran into a big hand with a straight to a full-house that knocked him out on the third hand at the other table.  The conversation was mild, but there was some discussion around black-jack, because Jack was out quickly. Jack was lingering and discussing card games.  Ryan started talking about a one deck table, in Vegas I guess?
