ABQ Poker Tour

Well summer is here or at least it is supposed to be.  Had to pull in some of my plants from the balcony so they don't die. (I know what you are thinking, not those kind of plants!)  This week, 14 showed up at Kevin's for some poker and NHL.  I played wonderfully again as I was second to bust out.  The discussion started about 'the blog'.  Everyone seems to think I write this shit down, take notes, wear a wire, or record with my phone, some bull-shit like that.  People it is all from memory.  Remember, I don't smoke and rarely drink.  I am one observant fuck!  All I can say is, I am getting better at it, so you better watch out!  The tells are getting more apparent! 

THE HAND OF THE NIGHT OR DARKNESS!!!!

This night started off with this blogger getting accosted in the parking lot by a long time member of the ABQPT.  The accusation: revealing too much information and getting him in trouble with his S.O.  In the future I will try to honor his request, therefore "Ladies and gentlemen: the story you are about to hear is true.

I will be at the Big Dog tomorrow!  Hope to see some of you there.  Kept meaning to remind everyone, but time flies!  So hopefully I will spend most of my Saturday playing poker. See you guys on Thursday!

P.S.  I left Thursday because my daughter cut herself pretty badly with a box cutter and the wife was out of town.  So I got a call from my son that she cut herself really bad.  So, I left and took her to the after hours pediatrics.  They determined that it didn't need stitches, but they did glue it and put a splint to keep it immobile.  She is doing fine and keeps asking me to host so she can play again and get some points.  She is currently 29th out of 50.

We started, I believe with 18 players.  At the outer table, not the pool table, it was Kevin, Steve, Ryan, Judd (at the nut seat), Chris (thanks for hosting), Partap, Blanchard, TK and me.  Steve apparently had a "date night" and was playing wildly, busted out early.  Just a warning Steve, we have seen this bit before, we call it the matrix!

I was out before break, at least it doesn't happen too often.  But, I was playing descent hands, getting a lot of hands like A-6, A-10, A-J, to start, about every three hands.  So, I was playing a lot of hands.  Unfortunately, my kickers were hitting, such as in a hand against Yvonne, I had top pair, with A-10.  The board was 10-7-6, something like that, and we bet on down to the river and she had pocket Q's.  Same thing happened with Baker, I had top pair of J's, with A-J, and we went on down to the river and he showed pocket K's.  I had pocket 10's and Kevin took it down with pocket A's.  Luckily we play conservatively.  But my chips went fast and I was out in the first level.  Getting frustrated, I had about 1400 left and went all-in after a re-raise from Kevin.  He called with A-Q, I had pocket 5's.  The flop came A-A-10, turn J, and river J.  So, I was eliminated quickly.  Don't know who made the final table or ha
